Dynamic Testing of Materials - Experimental Methods and Numerical Simulation
Seminarkode: VS 6.03
Termin
geplant 2013
Location
Freiburg
Scientific Coordination
Dr. H. Nahme, FhG Ernt-Mach-Institut, Freiburg; Dr.-Ing. E. Lach, ISL, Saint-Louis
Focus
An overview will be given about the behaviour of materials and structures under high dynamic loading as well as an introduction to the measurement techniques. These are the split-Hopkinson-bar in tensile and compression loading, drop weights, the Taylor test, planar impact test, biaxial and component crash equipment. An introduction to the use of numerical simulations for the description of material and component behaviour at high strain rates will be given. The application and the possibilities of numerical methods will be demonstrated by a variety of examples.
